In Tbilisi, the refugees will protest
In the Georgian capital, action of protest of refugees who are wanted to be evicted from the city hotel "Abkhazeti" is scheduled for today. As reported by Trend, they will protest in front of the Ministry of IDPs at 16.00 local time.
According to the refugees, they have received a notice that they must leave the hotel till August 15. In the case of disobedience, they will be evicted forcibly.
However, the accommodation offered to them by the authorities instead of living space in the hotel is of dubious quality. New homes are available in Rustavi. Alternatively, the refugees are compensated at a rate of $10 thousand per family.
New housing for refugees is promised to be finished within a few months, but now they will be forced to live in a rented apartment in Rustavi.
During today's action refugees are planning to demand to increase the compensation for which they would be able to buy adequate shelter in Tbilisi where they have lived for 20 years.
It is worth recalling that at the moment 270 families of refugees are living in the hotel "Abkhazeti".
