Tonoyan: Russian Military Base in Armenia is a part of the country's defense system
According to First Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia David Tonoyan, Russian military base in Armenia is an integral part of the security of the country. As reported by Trend with reference to the Russian news agency Itar-Tass, Armenian official said this in an interview.
"The presence of Russian military bases in Armenia is caused due to the military-political interests of both countries" - said Tonoyan. "According to the Interstate Protocol on the extension deployment of military bases, which came into force in July this year, the Russian military base provides the security of the republic in conjunction with the Armenian armed forces" - he recalled later.
