Ossetian woman from Georgian government is seeking political asylum
Former State Minister of Georgian government on Civil Integration Zinaida Bestaeva is seeking a country which could give her asylum.
According to VZGLYAD, Bestaeva, who is an ethnic Ossetian, has long cooperated with the Georgian authorities, which allowed her to take a post in the government of the republic. The reasons which prompted her to seek political asylum are still unkown. Official Tbilisi also refrains from commenting on this issue.
Earlier, Maya Chigoeva-Tsaboshvili, who was the Foreign Minister of the so-called "interim administration" of South Ossetia, asked for political asylum in Canada.
Recall, "interim administration" of South Ossetia was established in 2006. It was headed by Dmitry Sanakoyev, who was to change Eduard Kokoity as president of South Ossetia according to intentions of Tbilisi, which created this authority.
