Today, August 12, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II intends to perform the ceremony of baptism of Abkhazians living in Adjara, Batumi. As the reported by "GHN" referring to the Patriarchate of Georgia, ceremony of baptism is scheduled to 12:00 in the building of the Cathedral of Batumi.
Participation of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia in the celebration of the holiday Kolhoba, which will be held in Sarpi, is scheduled to August 13.
Recall, on the eve, the head of the Georgian Orthodox Church went on a visit in Adjara. Earlier within this trip, Ilia II has visited the cathedral in name of St. Nicholas in Batumi and gave the cathedral a cross that was brought from Jerusalem as a donation.
After that, His Holiness had a conversation with the audience of the Cathedral Church and local residents. In his speech Ilia II remembered the times when he served in the cathedral seven years.
