The Georgian authorities are taking revenge on Robert Sturua
According to Georgian media, authorities are abolishing a position of artistic director at the local theater. Journalists attribute this step with the desire of the ruling elite to take revenge on the famous film director Robert Sturua.
Recall, Robert Sturua is known for his criticizing the Georgian leadership. So, June this year the director said he would not want the country was headed by a man of not Georgian nationality.
"Generally speaking, I do not want the president of Georgia was an American. They will send a loser, and then we'll have to look into his eyes. And I would not want the Italian will be our president" - he said.
Earlier Sturua has repeatedly said that he did not want to see Mikhail Saakashvili as the President of Georgia, referring to his Armenian origin.
Also, he stressed that negatively evaluated all the current ruling elite in Georgia in a recent interview to TV channel "Maestro". "These people are not completely untalented degenerates, they are half-degenerates" - said Sturua.
At the same time, he said, that relations between Moscow and Tbilisi will get better soon. "It will take two or three years, and we'll see Russian and Georgian presidents kissing" - said the director.
According to VZGLYAD, Sturua has already said he was not going to leave the theater n.a. Shota Rustaveli, where he now holds the position of artistic director, in an interview to TV channel "Maestro". He also expressed confidence that the authorities are abolishing this position due to the fact that the Georgian authorities do not tolerate criticism.
