Bordyuzha: CSTO and EurAsEC should collaborate and not to merge
According to the CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha, his organization, as well as the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) have to cooperate rather than to unite. As reported by Trend, politician said this opinion today during a video-press conference "Moscow-Astana".
"These are two organizations with quite different objectives. CSTO specializes in security issues, and the EEC - in economic issues" - said Bordyuzha. According to him, it's more correctly to put the question about collaborating to complement each other.
"CSTO should develop its security system of the global projects which are implemented within the framework of the EurAsEC" - said Bordyuzha, noting the existence of the Protocol on Cooperation between the two structures.
Recall, the military-political alliance of the CSTO is composed of seven CIS countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Armenia.
Eurasian Economic Community is an international economic organization. It is developing the common external customs borders of the member states, the elaboration of unified foreign policy, tariffs and prices. The CSTO includes: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
