"Free Georgia": "Borjomi" will return to the Russian market
According to information released today by the party leader "Free Georgia" Kakha Kukava, the return of Georgian products to the Russian market is fundamentally resolved. According to him, there are only technical problems and legal issues. As reported by the "Georgia-News", Kukava announced this information today in interview to TV channel "Maestro", commenting on the situation with the supply of mineral water "Borjomi" to Russia.
"The issue is fundamentally resolved, there is no principal contradictions in connection with the return of Georgian products to the Russian market" - said Kukava. He added that this has been said during his last meeting with the head of Rospotrebnadzor Gennady Onishchenko.
He explained that it would take about two months to resolve various technical issues and legal procedures. Kukava also said that "Free Georgia" is working to start to export several kinds of Georgian products to Russia by the end of the year.
The fact that the Federal Service began consideration of the application to export "Borjomi" is "the first concrete result", said opposition.
"I'm sure that after the decision on "Borjomi", a positive decision will also be taken regarding the export of wine, liquor, tea and citrus fruits" - said Kukava.
Recall, the day before a number of Russian media reported that the Russian Sanitary Service is considering the return of Georgian of mineral water "Borjomi" to the Russian market.
"The Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare has received an official application on the import of mineral water "Borjomi" to Russia, which is currently under review" - according to the website of Rospotrebnadzor.
In turn, the company producer of "Borjomi" - IDS Borjomi Georgia claims that it have not made an application to the Federal Service.
"We do not understand the basis on which other company made an application, while we are the official manufacturers, and we declare that we did not make any application in connection with this matter" - said today in an interview manager of public relations Cholokashvili Nice.
