EU: Resolution of Nagorno Karabakh problem must be accelerated
According to the head of the EU representation in Azerbaijan Roland Kobia, the process of settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh should be accelerated, as reported by Trend.
"At a meeting in Kazan, Armenia and Azerbaijan failed to reach an agreement on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. But this does not mean that the whole process has failed. Of course, failure to reach agreement at a meeting in Kazan is disappointing, however, a few days after that a meeting was held in Sochi, which, as I heard, was held in a positive atmosphere. We would like to see this process going on. I would not like to think that the settlement process has failed in all" - said Kobia in an interview.
In an interview, he also touched upon the topic of incidents that occur at the contact line between Armenian and Azerbaijani troops.
"We are saddened by what is happening in the frontal zone. Such cases should not occur both from the Azerbaijani or Armenian side, because there is a ceasefire regime. No one should die there. Both sides need to respect the ceasefire regime" - said the EU representative.
Recall, the conflict between the two South Caucasus countries - Armenia and Azerbaijan - began in 1988.
