80 percent of Georgia's population live below the poverty
According to Georgian media the vast majority of Georgian population lives below the poverty line.
As reported by VZGLYAD, Tbilisi edition "Resonance" published statistics according to which about 80 percent of Georgians live below the poverty after a sharp rise in utility tariffs, cost of public transport and the establishment of fees for kindergartens.
According to official figures, the official minimum subsistence level for a family of four is 266 GEL in the country. However, according to experts, in reality this amount will be increased at least threefold.
Recall, the Statistical Office of Georgia recently reported that inflation fell to 8.5 percent in July 2011.
