Armenia became the most favorable country for media development
Armenia is the most favorable country for media development among the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia. As reported by the "Georgia-News", this is opinion of the experts of the international organization IREX, who released their annual study "Media Sustainability Index - 2011" (MSI).
Armenia had got 2.09 points from the four-point scale. This is the highest index among the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia in 2011, as the analysts said. In Azerbaijan, the figure is 1.65, while in Georgia - 1.85.
IREX analysts noted that the currently Armenia has increased the influence of online media, blogs and so-called "citizen journalism", as well as the social networks.
Nevertheless, despite such positive research results, experts of IREX are being concerned about professional and ethics standards that exist in Armenian and other media, especially in newspapers.
