Copyrights are violated in Adjara
Representatives of the Georgian Association of copyright protection said about mass copyright infringement on the territory of Adjara. As reported by the "Business-Georgia", in this case it is about copyright infringement in Batumi restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs, hotels, broadcasting companies and other similar institutions. Only 20 of them have licenses, said the Association.
Representatives of local entertainment facilities do not confirm these figures, but they consider that the licensing law can not be applied to them as music and songs sounding there is in record rather than in a live performance.
As explained the chairman of the Association of copyright protection Gigi Kobaladze in an interview, massive copyright violations in Adjara is the result of legal ignorance.
Kobaladze also added that if the institution would not buy the license for performance of musical works, they will be penalized. In turn, the money from fines must be sent to pay fees.
Recall, July this year, in Batumi, a regional office of the Association of copyright protection started its work. The main purpose of its work is enforcement of copyrights and related rights.
