Drug trafficking from Iran to Azerbaijan increased
According to the head of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan Lieutenant General Elchin Guliyev, recently his office has recorded increase of attempts of illegal transportation of narcotics from Iran to Azerbaijan. As reported by the 1news.az, this the chief Azeri border guard told at the news conference to reporters.
At the same time, the official added that the experts of the State Border Service in cooperation with other law enforcement authorities of the country has successfully suppresses all such attempts of illegal transportation of drugs across the border.
Recall, recently Armenia published data on the number of addicts at its territory in 2010. For example, in 2010 in Armenia there were formally registered 912 drug addicts. This number of addicts were registred at local narcological clinics. According to 2009 their number was 676 people. This was reported in an interview by the head of the statistical department of social services staff of the National Statistical Service of Armenia Nelly Baghdasaryan. The diagnosis of "addiction" was first given to 235 patients in 2010, while the previous year there were 200 of such people, she added.
