Sturua: I can not become leader of Taganka Theater
Director of the theater named after Shota Rustaveli Robert Sturua, dismissed by authorities of Georgia, can't become leader of Moscow Taganka Theater, even if he'll be offered to become its artistic director. "As for the Taganka Theater, even though I was offered to go there, I can not do this. I've always loved and I love this theater, but its story is already finished. We must build a new theater, but I have no power for this" - RIA Novosti quoted the words of Sturua, as reported by agency Trend.
The director said further that a number of Moscow's theaters have offered him options for work and cooperation. "Alexander Kalyagin offered me a position of permanent guest director in his theater Et Cetera. I am very grateful for the offer, I know this theater and I have staged plays here" - said Sturua. He added that it will take time to make a final decision.
Earlier today, information that the Moscow authorities offered the former artistic director of Georgia's Rustaveli Drama theatre Robert Sturua cooperation with Moscow theaters was announced.
"Moscow theater stage has always been friendly for Robert Robert (Sturua). Now, when he was fired from the Rustaveli theater at home, we invite him to stage plays in various theaters in Moscow" - said today Deputy Mayor for Social Policy Lyudmila Shvetsova in an interview.
