Alasania: Georgian economy is destroyed
Chairman of the Georgian opposition party "Free Democrats" Alasania said that the current authorities have destroyed the national economy.
As reported by the "Russian Peacekeeper", during a meeting with the population of Svaneti Alasania stressed that the people of this region are in the same grievous plight as citizens of the country. "Most of the residents of Svaneti are unemployed. The State and the Department of Agriculture does not care about helping farmers, people who work the land to keep their families. Today the economy and agriculture of Svaneti is destroyed as well as throughout Georgia" - said Alasania.
According to the opposition leader, region requires a change of leadership of Ministry of Agriculture and a big concern about workers to remedy the situation. "Farmers need real help - fertilizers, chemicals, so that people had income and were not threatened with hunger!" - added Alasania.
Recall, the leader of "Free Democrats" Alasania is carrying out active pre-election meetings with the public.
Having come back In July from the U.S., Alasania already visited Shida Kartli, Guria and Samegrelo. During these meetings, Alasania stated his position that the rule in the region, "the clan" of the governor Gorozia should end soon and the Minister of Agriculture Bakur Kvezereli should be sent in resignation.
"I have visited Shida Kartli, Guria and Samegrelo and I saw that their main problem is unemployment. Total unemployment! Most of the rural population - 70 percent - are unemployed" - said Alasania in an interview after the tour.
According to him, the actions of solidarity of his party with political prisoners, as well as for the protection of political rights and media freedom in Georgia will begin from September.
"We are ready and even have already agreed with professional groups and NGOs on joint activities. It will be a partnership of political parties and civil society whose sole purpose is to ensure every citizen's right to free choice" - stressed the opposition.
