Reducing inflation in Georgia has no effect on prices
According to a number of Georgian experts, the decline in inflation in the country will not affect food prices in the territory of Georgia. As reported by the "Business-Georgia", this opinion, in particular, holds a representative of the largest company importer of sugar in Georgia Ilham Alizadeh. He argues that the reduction of inflation in Georgia may not affect the price of sugar as "declining trend in sugar prices on world stock markets is not planned".
Moreover, the world price of sugar has risen slightly three weeks ago. Alizadeh finds difficulty in replying the question of whether prices will go down in the near future or not. According to experts, there are no signs pointing to one or another trend in the world. He led the only information, earlier made public by the World Bank. According to it, the price of sugar increased by 62 percent for the year.
In turn, according to representatives of large Georgian supermarkets, the reduction of inflation in Georgia in no way affected the cost of food.
"There is no product which price was reduced" - said procurement manager of "Populi" in an interview. In turn, the director of the supermarket "Continental" indicated only a slight reduction of the price for bread in the stores of his network.
