Ambassador: Georgia and Ukraine will join the EU
Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine Grigol Katamadze expressed confidence that the policy of Tbilisi and Kiev will lead to rapid accession of both countries to the EU.
"Ukraine is very firmly and calmly about the future. And is moving forward by mighty steps. I wanna wish huge success to Ukraine and Ukrainian people on these jubilee days. I'm sure that it is not far off, when Ukraine will take its rightful place in Europe and European Union, like Georgia" - "New Region" quoted the words Katamadze.
He also compared the situation in Abkhazia and South Ossetia with the challenges which Ukraine faced in Crimea.
"I remember that I wanted to come there and to go from house to house and say them not to give in to provocations in order that it has not happened in Ukraine the same, as in Georgia. I mean the problems in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Thank God that the Ukrainian politicians had the wisdom, fortitude, and they did not succumb to provocations that have been thrown from outside" - said the Georgian diplomat.
Earlier, Georgian Minister of Economic Vera Kobalia stated that one of the aims of the current authorities of Georgia is the country's accession to the European Union. Membership in the EU is a great value for residents of Georgia, she added.
