Sturua will become the chief director of the theater Et Cetera
Famous disgraced Georgian director Robert Sturua, who was dismissed from his post of artistic director of the Rustaveli Drama Theatre by the Georgian authorities in Tbilisi, has agreed to work as an invitee of the chief theater director Alexander Kalyagin Et Cetera. As recalled by "GHN", after his dismissal he has received many offers of work in Russian theaters.
Today Sturua confirmed in an interview to "News of Culture", that he had accepted the proposal of Alexander Kalyagin - the head of the Moscow theater Et Cetera - to become an invitee chief theater director.
According Sturua, the proposal was made to him last year. However, the work at the Theatre Rustaveli did not allow him to accept this offer. "Naturally, I agree, because I am a person with a strong sense of gratitude. I asked them for some time. I should feel, how I will be free internally. In fact, we have already agreed on those things that I'll produce there. I want it to be a comedy - as always with a serious theme, with a strong kick inside"- said the director in an interview.
