Tbilisi has officially supported the people of Libya
Official Tbilisi expressed today its support to the Libyan people in their fight against the regime of Muammar Gaddafi. As reported by the "Georgia-News", this support was expressed in an official statement released today by the Foreign Ministry of Georgia.
"The ongoing developments in Libya is a good example for all of the dictators of the world. They must know that threats and violence can not stop the free will of the people ... The Georgian Foreign Ministry supports the efforts of the Transitional National Council of Libya to ensure order and stability in the country, as well as the North Atlantic Alliance to protect the civilian population from dictator Gaddafi" - said the ministry in a statement.
"Georgia appreciates the efforts and struggle of the Libyan people for freedom which has entered a decisive phase in recent days. That's inspiring that the long reign of dictator Gaddafi is expected to be completed and the Libyan people will once again be given the opportunity to protect their violated rights and free will for the future their country" - noted in the document of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Recall, mass protests demanding the resignation of Muammar Gaddafi, ruling Libya for over 40 years, began in mid-February. Later, the protests escalated into armed confrontation between government forces and rebels.
