Black Sea power line is of interest of investors
The project of construction of Black Sea power line (500-kilovolt transmission line, Turkey-Georgia) is of interest of the company "Kavkazus Energy & infrastraksha". According to "Business-Georgia", the company's management has contacted the company "Energotrans", which manages the project, to review the details. Its owner is the "State of Georgia electrical system".
Company "Elektrotrans" began construction of the substation in Akhaltsikhe near the border with Turkey in 2011. It is one of the main components of the project Black Sea power line. Internal roads, units of work and concrete plant have already been built.
Under the plan, the length of the Black Sea power line will be 247 kilometers. The project is funded by several international financial institutions and government of Sakartvelo. The new transmission line will allow the export of 700 megawatts of electricity to Turkey. The line will be used as the main export network for Mtkvari hydro power plant.
