Georgia has increased its trade volume with the EU countries
According to information released today by the Georgian Statistical Office "Gruzstat", trade volume of Sakartvelo with EU countries has widened. According to "Business-Georgia" with reference to statistics, the results of trade turnover of Georgia with the EU amounted to 1.228 billion dollars for the period from January to July 2011. This 32 percent increase over the same period last year.
Exports for the period totaled 198 million dollars (an increase of 27 per cent) and imports - 1031 million USD (33 percent).
In total, the share of EU countries in foreign trade turnover was 25 percent.
34 percent of the trade deficit is accounted to the European countries during the period of the year. As of January-July 2010 - also 34 percent.
