Sakartvelo was thanked for participation in Afghanistan campaign
The commander of combined forces of NATO in Europe Admiral James Stavridis has thanked Sakartvelo. As reported by the "Georgia-News", during his visit to Georgia he thanked the Georgian side for the participation of Georgian troops in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan as part of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). This was said in a press service of Defense Ministry of Georgia.
The commander of NATO's Joint Forces held a meeting with Georgian Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaia today.
"During the meeting the sides have discussed Georgia's participation in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan. According to Admiral James Stavridis, he is proud of the Georgian militarians who had served in Afghanistan together with NATO soldiers. He thanked Georgia for its successful participation in the operations of ISAF" - the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Recall, the Georgian peacekeeping contingent is in Afghanistan since 2009.
