Saakashvili has met with the NATO representatives
During today's meeting of the head of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili with the commander of the joint forces of NATO in Europe Admiral James Stavridis the sides discussed the prospects of future relations of Sakartvelo with the alliance. This was reported by "Georgia-News" referring to the administration of the Georgian president.
The U.S. Admiral Stavridis arrived in Georgia yesterday with a two-day visit. His current meeting with President Saakashvili was held at the Palace in Tbilisi.
"At the meeting the sides discussed prospects of relations between Georgia and NATO and Georgia's participation in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan. James Stavridis personally thanked the president of Georgia for courage and bravery of the Georgian militaries" - said in a message of the administration.
Saakashvili familiarized the American guest with the ongoing reforms, as well as a number of infrastructure projects in the country.
Prior to that, the head of the Georgian Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaia had met with the commander of the joint forces of NATO in Europe. During this meeting Stavridis expressed gratitude for the participation of Georgian troops in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan (ISAF).
