Kosachev satisfied with the process of elections in Abkhazia
According to the chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Konstantin Kosachev, the election of the President of Abkhazia is being held at a high participation rate, in accordance with all international standards. According to news agency "Apsnipress", such information Kosachev announced today to reporters at the press center of the Central Election Commission of Abkhazia. The legislation of Abkhazia in the sphere of electoral rights meets the highest international level, said further the MP. He even noted that it may be of interest to other countries on a number of positions, including Russia. "There is something what we could learn from you" - he said.
He added that he had already visited eight polling stations of the country with his colleagues observers: "At the sites, we talked with observers from all staffs. There are three observers from each candidate at every site. No observer have recorded any complaints or violations during this period. We have not heard any political remark".
He also noted the high civic participation of the Abkhaz people. "In the morning people were lined up for a vote, but it is not indicative of poor organization, but of how people relate to the election of the President" - said Kosachev.
The head of the Duma Committee also expressed confidence that the overall turnout for this election will be high.
