Sturua: I'm not going to return
Famous Georgian director Robert Sturua does not intend to continue his activities in the Rustaveli Theatre. As reported by "Georgia-News", the director said this today during a videoconference Tbilisi-Moscow, organized by Tbilisi International Press center of RIA Novosti.
"Even if everything changes and the order will be canceled, I'm determined not to return. I've got pride and pride" - said Sturua.
"I grew up in a family which taught me to think about everything not philosophically. but with humor. Despite the fact that I was ready to dismissal, something has changed inside me and need a bit to recover" - he added.
"I have obligations to the theater Et Cetera, they have always been kind to me and we struck up a friendship. And the suggestion I have officially got from the theater Et Cetera, is the most acceptable for me. I am a person who has developed a sense of gratitude, and Secondly, I love Kalyagin very much and therefore I will probably prefer this theater. Although nothing has been decided yet, I would prefer that the process has reached the end. Culmination was not there and I'm waiting for the completion of these events, the unwitting participant and the main character of which I've appeared" - said the director about his choice of future work.
Recall, in mid-August, the Georgian Minister of Culture Nika Rurua signed the order to vacate the Georgian director Robert Sturua down as artistic director of the Rustaveli Theatre in Tbilisi.
Until that - about a month ago - Robert Sturua has made a statement that the Georgian people should abandon the current leadership of Georgia: "The Georgian people should give up this leadership, as the Germans gave up Hitler. Georgians should repent of their sins. The church must take the leadership - only then the country will be saved. If ypu deify Satan always - you should expect something bad".
