The opposition demands to find out the reasons for price hike in minibuses in Tbilisi
Representatives of the "Georgian Party" opposed to re-price increase of travel in minibuses operating in Tbilisi. As "Business-Georgia" recalled, price of travel on the "minibuses", which earlier was 60 GEL, increased to 80 tetri from August 26.
As representative of the "Georgian Party" Sofia Khorguani explained in an interview today at a special briefing, drivers deny that they have increased the prices without permission. However, the mayor's office in Tbilisi has denied its involvement in the increase in the cost of travel.
In this regard, the party appealed to the Georgian Interior Ministry and Prosecutor's Office to ensure that these departments ascertain the perpetrators of price increase. "We demand to ascertain those people who are forcing drivers to raise rates, since we are dealing with a criminal offense, in particular - threats, coercion and the restriction of the freedom of labor" - said Khorguani.
