The Expert: Talk about the three million tourists in Georgia is a tale
According to the head of the Association of Young Financiers and Businessmen of Georgia Merab Janiashvili, talk about three million tourists who, supposedly, will visit Georgia this year, is "equal to a fairy tale". As reported by "Business-Georgia", Janiashvili wonder how small Georgia should recieve three million tourists. This was how the representative of this organization has commented the information previously promulgated by minister of economy and sustainable development of Georgia Vera Kobalia in an interview to French edition La Tribune.
"It would be a very good indicator for Georgian economy if 3 million tourists will visit the country. If each of them spend 500 or even 200 dollars, the economy would have got an investment of approximately $ 6 billion. It will revive the economy, but how we'll serve them? We have no food resource or infrastructure to do this. Population of our country is 4 millon people, so how can we recieve 3 million tourists? Talk about something like that is equal to the tales .... Where does Vera Kobalia takes such information" - surprised Janiashvili.
According to him, if such a situation would occur, consumer prices would have increased significantly, but it would be possible to stand, because a very large investment would have been invested to the economy.
"In order to the growth of the economy rose to a two-digit indicator, we need foreign investment of up to two billion dollars. Imagine, if we'll recieve $ 6 billion, what will it result?" - said Janiashvili.
