Batumi oil terminal denies leaking oil
Representatives of the Batumi Oil Terminal have denied the information that in the village of Bartskhana in Batumi, oil flows from the taps instead of water. As reported by the "News of Georgia," Batumi Oil Terminal is the owner of a damaged oil pipeline. Reports about oil instead of water were spread in the media on Sunday. Water heating appliances and washing machines of locals are also out of order, wrote local publications.
As the representatives of BOT explained in an interview, the terminal can not physically cause the pollution of drinking water, as it is neither the operator nor the owner of the oil park of the former oil refinery, located in the village Bartskhana.
"Communications of BOT are in good condition and under constant supervision of technical services of the company, which is confirmed by the relevant regulations and technical expertise" - the company said.
They added that the relevant environmental and municipal services have no claims to the Batumi oil terminal in connection with these facts.
