Sturua: I am not a "prostitute"!
According to the Georgian director Robert Sturua, in case if he would return to his theater, this step would be tantamount to prostitution. As reported by the "GHN", the director, earlier dismissed from his position as the head of Theatre n.a. Shota Rustaveli announced, responding to a question about his possible return to the theater.
"I'm not a hero, I am a man, a free man. I must respect myself. I can make a step that does not fit with my conscience. It's like when you lure a virgin, you have an "act" with her, and then you say - go away, you're prostitute. My return there will be a return of a prostitute. I was offended, ridiculed and accused of racism and now they say - cpme back and we'll give you a lot of money" - said Sturua, speaking on the air of mediaunion "Ob'ektiv".
He explained that the accusations of racism is a worst insult to him. As Culture Minister Nikoloz Rurua dismissed Sturua as the head of the theater, "for xenophobia".
Later, authorities offered to the distinguished director to come back and to produce two plays per season for a big fees.
