Opposition: the power corrupts "emperor" Saakashvili
Leader of the Georgian oppositional parliamentary faction "Christian Democrats" George Akhvlediani believes that in the case if Mikhail Saakashvili will take the post of Prime Minister, the country will lose international support.
Recall, the Georgian Constitution was amended to provide limiting the power of the president and the transfering of much of his power to the head of the government. Representatives of the local opposition has repeatedly claimed that these reforms are related to the desire of President Mikhail Saakashvili to remain in power indefinitely.
In turn, Akhvlediani believes if the current head of state will "assign the power", it would significantly hit the Georgia's position in the international arena. "Nobody in the world, neither political power nor leader will support Saakashvili to become prime minister, and they openly talk about it ... And this means not only the end to cash flow. This means that he will be face to face with the North neighbor - VZGLIAD quoted the word of oppositionist.
"Today, Saakashvili is emperor, but such power corrupts a person and it would be difficult either psychologically or morally to refuse it. He is sure that if he does not rule the country, then it falls apart" - he added.
