Azerbaijan has invested in Georgia $ 25 million for six months
Azerbaijan has invested about $ 13.2 million in the Georgian economy. According to "Business-Georgia" with reference to the Azerbaijani media, these figures were compiled based on data for the second quarter of this year. Thus, this country took the sixth place among the main Georgia's investors for the period (USA, Turkey, UAE, Cyprus, etc.). These data were announced by the Georgian Statistical Office "Gruzstat".
Thus, in the first quarter of 2011, Azerbaijan has invested $ 11.7 million in Georgia. So, the volume of investment for the first 6 months totaled $ 24.9 million.
In the second quarter of 2011, total direct foreign investment in Georgia amounted to $ 203 million. This is a 17 percent increase over the first quarter of this year.
The share of the six largest countries which carried out foreign investment in Georgia, amounted in the second quarter this year in total to 79 percent.
About 11 percent of direct foreign investment - 23 million - accounts to international organizations.
