Sarkozy will discuss the agreement of 2008 in Tbilisi
According to information announced to the journalists by the head of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze on the eve, one of the main topics during an upcoming visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy to Sakartvelo is to discuss the ceasefire agreement signed after the August war between Russia and Georgia in 2008. As reported by "Georgia-News", Bakradze announced this in the air of TV company "Rustavi 2".
"We are very grateful to the President of France, but the fact that over the past three years Russia hasn't done anything (without considering withdrawal of troops from Perevi) to implement the ceasefire agreement" - said Bakradze.
It is very important for Tbilisi that "Sarkozy came to Georgia and will get acquainted with the situation at the place and will be convinced that an agreement which has been reached through his mediation and was signed by the president of Russia, is not satisfied" - said Bakradze in an interview.
He recalled that Georgia has repeatedly announced that Russia is not implementing six points of ceasefire agreement, signed also with the participation of the head of France after the 2008 war.
As expected, Sarkozy will visit Sakartvelo the next month.
