The Media: Georgia is waiting for a replacement of prime minister
According to local media, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili may replace the head of government soon.
As reported by VZGLIAD, the Georgian edition "Alia" noted that the president intends to significantly upgrade the current cabinet. Prime Minister Nika Gilauri, who is in his post since February 2009, may lose his position. He can be replaced by the state minister for regional development Ramaz Nikoleishvili or the Minister of Economy Veronica Kobalia.
Also, the Minister of Agriculture Bakur Kvezereli, the head of the Ministry of Ecology George Khachidze and Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaia, who can become authorized of the president in western Georgia, can leave the government.
The edition also noted that the change of government is not connected with the immediate need for personnel changes but with Mikhail Saakashvili's desire to divert the attention of the republic's population from more pressing problems. "In the new political season Saakashvili really needs reshuffles in order to present a spectacle to hungry people" - noted the Georgian journalists.
