The OSCE can establish a temporary mission in Georgia
According to Audronius Azubalis, who is the OSCE chairman and the head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is possible to create a temporary OSCE mission in Georgia, which will operate from the capital of Austria - Vienna. As reported by "Georgia-News", Azubalis announced this information today in Tbilisi, where he had a joint press conference with Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze.
"The fact that the OSCE mission in Georgia is not represented is bad for both sides. We do our best to find a temporary solution - to establish a structure, similar to the OSCE mission which will carry out at least a part of functions and tasks of the OSCE mission, beyond the territory of Georgia, in Vienna ... It is not easy to establish it" - said the OSCE Chairman.
The OSCE Mission, which worked in Georgia since 1992, officially ceased its operations in Georgia on June 30, 2009.
Azubalis came to Georgia on the night of Tuesday, September 13. He should spend here two days, participating in the so-called "ambasodariale" - a meeting of the heads of diplomatic missions and consular offices of Georgia.
