Chamber of Control of Georgia returned 44 million lari to the budget
About 44 million lari has been returned to the state budget of Georgia in 2010 based on recommendations by the Chamber of Control of Georgia. As reported by Trend, the head of the Chamber Levan Bezhashvili announced this information to journalists. He has presented public office's record, compiled on the basis of a special monitoring.
"As a result of recommendations issued on the basis of audits conducted by the Chamber, state budget has returned 44 million lari in the form of cost savings and the recovered amounts in 2010" - said Bezhashvili.
The Georgian government has already taken into account 193 recommendations of the Chamber, he said.
He also said that 37 persons working in the public service were arrested for violations identified on the basis of monitoring. Also, a number of criminal cases in connection with these violations was instituted, added Bezhashvili.
