Opposition calls on the authorities to let the Georgian wine to return to Russia
The Georgian authorities have received a proposal from members of the oppositional "Free Georgia" to begin negotiations for the return of Georgian wine to Russia. As reported by Trend, such call is contained in a statement the party sent to the Georgian Prime Minister and the head of economic department of Georgia.
The document stressed that despite initiatives of "Free Georgia", Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has repeatedly opposed the return of wine to the Russian market.
"We are opponents in politics, in elections, but the Georgian peasants and agriculture of the country do not have to suffer because of it" - said in a statement the opposition.
"Free Georgia" is ready to meet with Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and Economy Minister Vera Kobalia on this matter, explained in the document.
