Vashadze has discussed Russia and the WTO with the President of Switzerland
The head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry Grigol Vashadze during a visit to the U.S. as a member of the Georgian high-ranking delegation, has met with President of the Swiss Confederation, the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Relations Micheline Calmy-Rey. This was reported by the agency Trend.
As the Georgian Foreign Minister explained in an interview, the sides have discussed the progress of negotiations between Georgia and Russia on Russia's accession to the WTO, in which the Swiss side acts as an intermediary.
At a meeting with Swiss President Vashadze also spoke about the new facts of human rights violations in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Recall, the last, 5th round of the Georgian-Russian negotiations on the WTO was held in Geneva on September 12. They all have ended without result.
Georgia raises the issue of transparency in trade at the Abkhazian and South Ossetian sections of the Georgian-Russian border.
