Bitsadze found in Vienna
Today, according to Georgian media, in Vienna, Austria, the family of former Chief of Border police of Sakartvelo Badri Bitsadze, wanted by Georgian authorities, was found. According to "Georgia-News", TV-channel "Rustavi-2" distributed the video with Badri Bitsadze and his wife - ex-Speaker of Parliament Nino Burjanadze, as well as their son. TV journalists argue that the record was made near the Grand Hotel in Vienna.
According to "Rustavi-2", Bitsadze refrained from meeting with journalists. The TV-report also claimed that there was information that Bitsadze is allegedly in Russia.
Recall, the former head of Georgian Border Police and the spouse of leader of the opposition party "Democratic Movement - United Georgia" Nino Burjanadze, Badri Bitsadze was accused of illegal actions during the protests of "National Assembly" in Georgia. Protests were held in Tbilisi during five days until its dispersal on the night of May 26.
August 19 this year, he was sentenced in absentia. Tbilisi City Court sentenced him to 5.5 years in prison. He was found guilty under Article which imply "confrontation, threat or violence against the defenders of public order or other authorities, carried out by group".
