The head of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with American colleagues
The head of the Azeri Foreign Ministry Elmar Mamedyarov held a series of meetings in the United States. According to Trend citing the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, these meetings took place in the framework of the 66th UN General Assembly session, which takes place in New York.
In particular, Mamedyarov took part in the meeting of the Cooperation Council of the Turkic-speaking countries. Secretary General of the organization Khalil Akynchy informed the Minister about the activities and tasks of the Council. They also discussed activities for the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the independence of its member countries.
Mamedyarov then took part in the ministerial meeting, devoted to the humanitarian situation in the Horn of Africa. Mammadyarov, for the humanitarian crisis in the region need solidarity of all nations. Azerbaijan has, and will provide, assistance to these countries, the minister added.
After this, Mamedyarov took part in the 11th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting and the Economic Cooperation Organization. And later he attended bilateral meetings with Foreign Ministers of Kuwait and the Antigua and Barbuda. During these meetings, they discussed regional and international issues and prospects of bilateral relations in various fields, as well as cooperation within international organizations.
