Media: Russia, China and Iran are ready to create an integrated missile defense system
Iranian media said on-going talks between Tehran, Beijing and Moscow on a joint missile defense system.
As reported by "Rosbalt," according to new information, the contracting parties are ready for such move in connection with the certainty of Russia and China, that the elements of American missile defense system in Europe are directed just against them, and not to protect the EU against a possible attack from Iran or North Korea.
The source noted that the positions of Tehran and Beijing on this issue is practically identical.
Meanwhile, the official representative of Russia to NATO Dmitry Rogozin has already denied these rumors. "Creating a missile defense shield implies allied relations. Iran is our neighbor and partner but it is not our military ally, because it is not included in the CSTO. So I can say that Russian Federation is not negotiating with Iran and China on this issue" - Rogozin said, adding that Moscow may propose the creation of a joint missile defense system only to those partners who have the "relevant scientific and technological groundwork".
