Ambassador: negotiations of Georgia with the EU on trade will commence till the end of the year
According to information announced today by Georgian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Poland Nikoloz Nikolozishvili, negotiations on an agreement on Georgia's deep and comprehensive free trade with the European Union will commence later this year. This was reported bu "Georgia-News" referring to the TV-channel "Rustavi 2". As TV-channel stated, Georgian ambassador said this on the first day of the summit of "Eastern Partnership".
"They will provide promotion of a free trade agreement with regard to Georgia. By the end of the year, talks between Georgia and the EU under this agreement will begina nd they will promote economic development and convergence of the EU with Georgia, and Georgian companies will open the way to European markets" - said Nikolozishvili.
On the eve, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Tornike Gordadze said that Georgia expects concrete results from the summit of "Eastern Partnership" in order to determine the exact date to start negotiations on an agreement on a deep and comprehensive free trade agreement with EU.
Recall, the summit of the EU "Eastern Partnership" is held during September 29 and 30 in Polish capital - Warsaw.
