Opposition showed reporters brothers Saakashvili's villas
Representatives of the Georgian opposition movement "National Forum" organized a tour for journalists to the prestigious suburb of Tskneti capital to demonstrate real estate owned by president Mikhail Saakashvili's milieu.
As reported by VZGLIAD, according to the opposition, now several luxurious villas are under construction in Tskneti and for its building they are felling the trees of valuable species. One of the leaders of the "National Forum" Ani Mirotadze stated that brothers of Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili - David and George will become the owners of the houses. Also, a house of Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze and other representatives of ruling elite will be built here.
Mirotadze recalled that at the time of Mikhail Saakashvili's coming to power, even in the rank of Minister of Justice, he spoke about the need to fight elite corruption. "There are lots of officials who should be punished" - she pointed out.
Note that the relatives of the current president of Georgia have repeatedly been suspected of corruption. Thus, representatives of the Republican Party of Georgia accused Saakashvili's mother Giuli Alasania of several questionable transactions involving state property.
One of the leaders of the party Tinatin Khidasheli said that Giuli Alasania de facto controls higher education in Georgia. According to Khidasheli, Alasania, involving several senior officials, managed to get several large buildings and land for a nominal fee under control of Georgian University, which she founded earlier.
"After the "Rose Revolution" Giuli Alasania had also became one of the founders of LLC "University Furniture" and a cafe "Hadili". Instructive business of president's mother is another example of elitist corruption" - underlined Khidasheli, adding that Republicans will continue to report about these facts in future.
