Georgian users of Facebook intend to meet Sarkozy with protests
Georgian users of Facebook are going to hold their own protest during the forthcoming visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy to Sakartvelo. As reported by "Georgia-News", corresponding initiative group of users of social networks wants to hold a rally under the slogan "Let's turn October 7 in a day of global protest" in parallel to public speaking of Sarkozy in Tbilisi. It is scheduled to be held near the capital Philharmonic.
As explained on the web page of the initiative group on Facebook, the protest action will begin at 16:00 local time, while Sarkozy's speech is scheduled for 17:30.
"As representatives of civil society we are able and should organize ourselves and publicly demonstrate our protest" - said in the appeal of the initiative group. Europe must see that not everyone supports the ruling party "United National Movement" in Georgia, said Internet users.
To date, more than 40 users expressed their active desire to participate in the rally.
The opposition party "Georgia's Way" has already expressed its intention to join this action of Facebook users.
"Georgia's Way" supports this initiative and is willing to engage in an information campaign in order to show French president diversity of the political spectrum in Georgia" - explained the opposition in the message.
