In addition, the minister discussed with the Ambassador the overall military and political situation in the Caucasus region, they also exchanged views on other issues.
Recall, in a recent interview with the U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza said that Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which exists to this day between Armenia and Azerbaijan, can not be resolved by military means. In particular, Bryza recently announced such position to reporters in Baku. "At the moment, noone speaks about the military way of settlement the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Moreover, I want to say that now we can hear the statement about the possible use of force in conflict resolution less than more recently. This is a positive development" - said Bryza.
During numerous meetings with Azerbaijani officials, Bryza saw that official Baku is serious about resolving the conflict peacefully and without using force, said the American ambassador.
"The main task in the settlement of the conflict, as always, is to agree on basic principles and that is achievable" - said the U.S. representative in Azerbaijan.
