Today the court will consider Bitsadze's appeal
Today Tbilisi Court of Appeal began proceedings against the former head of the Georgian Border Police Badri Bitsadze, who is also the husband of main opposition leader Nino Burjanadze. As reported by GHN referring to the lawyer of the convicted - Levan Samushia, the court will appeal its decision on the basis of which Bitsadze was sentenced in absentia to 5.6 years in prison.
The only prosecution's evidence is Gia Uchava's testimony wich can not be taken as evidence, said Batsidze's attorney.
He recalled that Bitsadze was accused of organizing resistance to police during a protest of the Georgian opposition in downtown Tbilisi on May 26.
