Georgia and Russia again failed to agree in Geneva
On the eve, in Geneva (Switzerland) another 17th round of negotiations on stability and security in the Caucasus was held. As reported by the GHN, it ended in vain again. As the Georgian side noted, Russia has again refused the from proposal to pass international observers into Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Russia remains the guarantor of peace in the Caucasus and does not plead party of the conflict, said the head of the Russian delegation Grigori Karasin at the talks.
"Another round ended in vain. Unfortunately, Russia's position on important issues remained unchanged again. They do not go no matter what, Moscow's position is more rigid than it was during previous rounds" - said Deputy Foreign Minister Sergi Kapanadze in an interview after the meeting.
