Georgians are driven together to the rally in honor of Sarkozy's visit
Georgian media reported that employees of government organizations and enterprises of the republic were obliged to attend a rally at Freedom Square during a visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy to the country.
As VZGLIAD reported, the holiday, announced on Friday in the Georgian capital, is also connected with the visit Sarkozy but not with a holiday Tbilisoba.
It was reported that at the insistence of government, heads of local housing co-operatives are also obliged to attract people to the rally. In addition, special bus service from the province, which will arrive in the capital of the region, are also being organized there.
Recall, visit of Nicolas Sarkozy to Georgia will be held on October 7. This was told by press service of French Embassy in Georgia.
According to Embassy, French president will deliver a speech at Freedom Square in Tbilisi at 17:30 local time on October 7. "All concerned citizens of Georgia and French citizens residing in Georgia will gather at Freedom Square at 17.00" - noted in the statement.
They were reminded that the French president has twice visited Georgia. These visits took place in August and September 2008, after Russo-Georgian war.
Prior to that, deputy head of Georgian Foreign Ministry Tornike Gordadze said that French President Nicolas Sarkozy has personal interest in visit to Georgia.
"French President's visit to South Caucasus, within which he will visit Georgia, it is very important. As you may recall, he was a mediator during Russo-Georgian war. Three years later, Mr. Sarkozy himself is interested in a visit to Georgia" - noted the deputy minister.
