Ivanishvili renounces Russian citizenship for participation in Georgia's elections
Well-known businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili said he is ready to give up Russian and French citizenship for participation in the political life of Georgia.
According to VZGLIAD, Ivanishvili also said he'll sell about one-third of his business located in Russia till the Georgian parliamentary elections 2012.
As Ivanishvili said in a statement, he intends to prevent a total monopolization of power by current president Mikhail Saakashvili, who, according to the oligarch, "made and continues to make so many big and small unforgivable mistakes that any intelligent politician would gone into retirement and apologized to the people".
Bidzina Ivanishvili also said that the movement which he created is ready for "absolute victory" in the parliamentary elections what would allow a large-scale reform and significantly improvement of Georgian position on the international scene.
