Fake "Khvanchkara" detected in Germany
According to the head of the Sakpatent Irakli Gveladze, fake Georgian wines "Tsinandali" and "Khvanchkara" were detected in Germany. As reported by the GHN referring to Gveladze, company Moscow Wine & Spirits was bottling these wines. They have already prepared a lawsuit against this company, said the head of Georgian Patent Office.
"We have all the legal tools and mechanisms in order to protect our intellectual property. We've recorded use of names "Tsinandali" and "Khvanchkara", I mean German company Moscow Wine & Spirits has registered these brands. We tried to find the company and connected our embassy to this case, but we have failed, so we appealed Patent Office in Germany with the official claim. Georgian side must return its brands, as it was in the United States", said Gveladze.
Georgia has all legal grounds to contest the matter, concluded the head of the Sakpatent.
