Machavariani denies the possibility of early elections in Sakartvelo
Vice-Speaker of Georgian Parliament Mikhail Machavariani made a statement with rebuttal of assumptions and versions about the possibility of the early presidential elections in Sakartvelo, associated with the appearence of businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili at the political stage of the country, released the other day. As reported by the GHN, Machavariani exclude the possibility of holding early elections.
"We do not plan on holding early elections. We are the serious country and we are working out the Electoral Code, in order to have a new code that meets European standards", said Machavariani.
He added that the new electoral law would be adopted till the end of December, and re-checking voters' list will be completed in Spring.
Earlier today, several Georgian opposition leaders suggested the possibility of early elections in the country. They explained such haste by the appearance of the notorious Georgian businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili at political stage.
