Law enforcement agencies of countries members of the CIS met in Yerevan
Chief of Armenian Police Alik Sargsyan has got powers of the Chairman of the Council of Interior Ministers of CIS member states. As reported by Trend referring to RIA Novosti, Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev passed these powers to Armenian official on Friday at the meeting of the Council in Yerevan.
As Sargsyan mentioned at the meeting, conditions for the progressive development of mutual cooperation and combating modern threats and challenges were established on the results of agencies over the past period.
"I am confident that this meeting will give new impetus for cooperation of Interior Ministry and Police of the CIS and to strengthen cooperation between the agencies, mainly in the direction of the operational activity", said Sargsyan.
In turn, according to the Russian minister, efficiently functioning system of information exchange is debugged among the CIS countries. It is important to keep up the pace and to continue strengthening efforts to prevent the entire spectrum of criminal manifestations, said Nurgaliyev.
At this meeting, the Interior Minister and Police of the CIS countries should develop a strategy to combat organized gangs and cyber crime.
